Local Area Connection

By almorrow ·
How do I define a second Local Area Connection for the same adapter in W2K? I want to use a single adapter in my laptop to connect to two different networks, enabling and disabling depending on which one I want to use. Maybe there is another way besides a second Local Area Connection?

Local Area Connection

This should work.
If you know the IP addresses on the network cards you are conecting too then do this. On your laptop open up the properties of of your nic card and choose tcp/ip and properties. Once that window has come up then choose the Advanced tab at the bottom and then in the next window under the IP Settings click on Add and put in the IP Addresses of the two networks (nic cards) you are connecting too. You'll have to add one at a time.
Although if your nic card is DHCP enabled then this won't work.
