By IT Killer ·
I create a script to backup 6G data file to a secondary HD for my client who running windows 2000 profesional SP4. I run the script manually & everything work fine. In order to backup the data at convenient, I configure the local GPO to run the script at log off, the script is running but the process is incompleted. I re-configure the script run at user log on, everything is fine. So is anyone know why the backup script do not finish when I configure it run at log off.
Please advice, Thanks.

The process might be stopped because the system is shutting down. After the script runs, the system will end task applications still running in order to complete the shutdown.

Yeah, moving a 6GB file is gonna take a little bit of time. Probably what it happening is that the file is still moving around when the system shuts down to an extent that file copy jobs fail. And then your job fails.
So, if running it at login time is not a suitable option, then schedule it to run in the middle of the day in Scheduled Jobs.

hope this helps
