Local login Policy

By barry_threats ·
I am getting an error message of the local policy of this system does not permit you to login interactively.
This is a community learning server used by our group and i believe soneone accidentally changed the local login policy. Does anyone know of a way to login and change this policy? It is a windows 2000 server.

with account are you using to log on?
Try to log on with a account that have administrator rights and than add the domain account that you are trying to log on with to the local domain of the server and add it to the administrator groep.

Thanks for your help. We fixed the problem by using a backup of ADS.

you first have to login with an account with admin rights.....get into the local policy via START>PROGRAMS >ADMIN TOOLS>LOCAL SECURITY SETTINGS>LOCAL POLICY>USER RIGHTS>LOGON LOCALLY.......DOUBLE CLICK LOG ON LOCALLY & ADD EVERYONE...

This shouldlet everyone log on to the machine...

We seemed to have fixed the problem but thank you!I do see where you are going with your response but the problem is the only account that had admin rights to login was the admin account. A student logged in with the admin account and changed the login policy to deny access locally. Luckily we did have a backup of ads to correct the problem.
