Local Printer Port in Windows 2000

by bfeltus . Updated 25 years ago

I have a windows 2000 Pro workstation accessing a netware server. The printers are assigned to netware queues. I added a local printer to the network. It is physically on the workstation. I went through the setup and said that the printer was local and the port was lpt1. The port properties for this printer reports it as being lpt1. When I select this printer for my default printer, the print jobs go to one of the netware queues (even the test page). I typed “net use” at the command prompt, it shows lpt1 as being captured to the netware queue. I do not know where this is coming from. I have checked the login scripts, I have deleted and re-installed the printer. Is there any where else to look? How do I “uncapture” lpt1.Thanks.
