Locating Users Throughout the Country.

By joe. ·
I have been trying to find a method of scanning the network for all of the users in the uk section of the company, resolving them to ip addresses and from that, working out which office they are in. I then want to post this to a web page on the company intranet. I am having some trouble working out the best method. Does anyone else have a system for doing this or any ideas?

Search Mechanism, ICON BAR

On the Icon bar surrounded by dashes is the word Search, If you have the IP for the whole and then the IP for the subsetand you can dilenate it clearly it will do this with a route/path to the webpage you want to use.

You don't say what operating system

We're Windows 2003. I use a small vbscript login script in my GPO for all users that creates and updates a user log for each user with what PC and IP address they logged on from and when and a log for each PC which gives user login name, dates and times. Can be very useful data.

Obviously you'd have to wait a few days for the logs to populate and then crunch the data according to subnet and post it on your Intranet.

There's a dozen ways of doing this sort of tracking but I just like general data on who, when and where. Except, of course, for the Admins - we have our own GPO.

If you want it, peer mail me.
