I have a hard drive that seems to be locked. Once it boots up to win 2000 it asks me for the password (ctrl + alt + del) since i don't have it how can i access this HD and change it or if i try to install a new operating system on it and set it up to boot from cd-rom,it wont do it. How can i go around this password issue or be able to boot from cd when HD seems locked?

If you want to install a new OS, have you tried using a boot floppy with CD-Rom drivers? From there, fdisk and reformat the drive then install your new OS from the CD-Rom.
Other than trying to break a password (there are utils out there), anotheroption is if you can connect to a domain, you can log in with a valid ID with admin privileges then modify the system and its settings. If you don't need this data though, just wipe the drive and start over.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
