Locked out of Win2K

By bradleyr ·
I was playing around with setting policies on a Win2K machine and locked myself out :^(
The message I get is that the interactive logon has been disabled. I can't believe i did this. None of the accounts work. Any suggestions besided reinstalling the OS? Please, no flaming - it is bad enough already.

If this machine is part of a domain configure the group ploicy on the server that the workstation logs onto so that you have disabled the "deny logon locally" setting under windows setting--security---local policies--user rights assignments.

Hope this helps

1. Boot off the CD and run the Command Console. Delete the SAM. I think you will be able to log in as administrator with no pw.

2. There is a utility that runs in linux that lets you set account passwords. Go to http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ and follow the links to the right place for you.
