LOCKING DESKTOP

By rajivnarayanan@hotmail ·
I run a windows 2k advanced server os. I have specifically arrangend the icons and selected a backround suiting my taste. I do not want anybody else to change the desktop settings. How do I prevent others from commiting any change in my absence though this machine needs to be used by others sparingly.

the best and easyiest thing to do is get a program called fortres 101.

www.fortres.com

all the schools and most colleges use this, u could buy it like I did or you could just get the demo.

Are you loggin into the machine as the local administrator? In Win2k, if you add yourself to the admin group you will have full administrative control of your system. When you leave the system log out. Other uses can log in as either the local admin or themselves. Windows will preserve the icon layout and wallpaper for your account.
