Locks up when halfway thru page

by mmetrick . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

I have a Chaintech 6BTML Slot 1 board with its latest bios; a PIII 800eb (133mhz fsb)flipchip, and a socket 370/slot 1 converter board. It was set to 6x133mhz, and I’m getting a lockup during the page printout. All i/o cards were removed and put back one by one, no difference. I tried stopping down the clock speed to 8x100mhz, but it keeps coming up at 6x100mhz at bootup. (The jumper j9 is now set to 100mhz.) This seems to solve the lock up problem, but I can’t get it to run at 800mhz at 100mhz fsb with a 8x multiplier, it insists on running at 600mhz only! Any help or insight would be appreciated. I’ve had this on my bench for three days! Thanks.
