Logical drive inaccessible

If I double-click My computer I can see the hard disk partitions like c:,d:, e:, but when i double-click c: i can see the contents inside it whereas when the other partitions are double-clicked it gives an error like an extended error occured.
The contents can be seen through windows explorer and dos.
In short through my computer the contents of extended and logical drives are not shown.

What can be the problem?
