logical drives

If there are two logical partitions drive c: with os and drive with program files and other data and suppose drive c: is 40GB and drive is 150 GB but the actual space utilized by data is 40 GB can this technology be used to setup a fully functionad virtual Windows XP machine in a windows 7 platform please calrify

Depends on which version of 7 you have installed

Windows 7 only supports Vitalization on the upper end of the product line so Home Premium does not support Vitalization.

If you have what I believe are called Pro or Ultimate you can download the XP Mode from here
