Login opens System32 Folder Window

By JaneB ·
I am currently setting up a new computer and have gotten into a situation that when I log into my administrator account, a window for c:\windows\system32 file folder is opened on the desktop. I can close the folder and log out and power down the computer but the folder continues to be opened each time this account is logged into. How can I prevent this window from being opened?

Operating System: Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 1

Use Registry Editor to view the following two Windows registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Verify that all the values in these keys do not contain any incorrect, incomplete, or null entries (such as "").
