Login scripts to run automated installs

By rbhatia ·
I'm trying to use login scripts to automatically run security updates and patches on users workstations. However, the problem I run into is when users with non administrative priveleges logon, the application tries to install but they get an error due to non administrative priveleges. Is there some way I can have the program run automatically with admin priveleges only for that instance of program installation.

If your company is not using something like SMS or WINInstall to do software deployment then look into the SU utility from the NT resource kit. This will give you the ability to run the applciation update in a different user context.
