login to NT by disabled user

by netman@dol . Updated 25 years, 9 months ago

We have a user who is paraplegic and has complained about the difficulty of entering the Microsoft 3-digit “salute” (CTL-ALT-DEL) to login each day. I’d like to resolve this issue, but my research has not, as yet, yielded an answer to this dilemma. As NT is big on “accessibility” by users with diminished capacities, I am hopeful for a resolution.

We have thought about the possibility of a “programmable” keyboard, but we are hoping there is the ability to setup a key to replace the 3-key login “salute” from within NT. The “sticky key” is not an answer, as that appears to be only after the login process. Keep in mind that the workstation is NT4 with latest service pack. However, as our servers are Novell 5, we use the latest Novell client for logging into the network.

Side note: If a “programmable” keyboard is the only answer, please let me know if there would be any problem programming the 3-digit login keys.

Your help is appreciated, KEN
