Logon Banner

By TechTony ·
How do you create a domain logon banner on a Win2K server running AD? This seems rudamentary but I cannot find a simple way to do this basic task. I do not want to modify workstation registries, just display a simple legal notice when anyone logs into our domain through a login script.

Logon Banner: Group Policy

by Mike at Ingenuite In reply to Logon Banner

Tony, if you are using AD, then a new Group Policy Object will help you achieve this.
Create a new one at the desired OU level and use the "Message text for users attempting to logon" policy (there is also a title section). Find these settings under Computer config> Windows settitngs> Security settings> Local policies> SEcurity options
