I have just installed a Windows XP station on a 2 computer peer network. The other computer is a Windows NT station. Connection is through a 3Com ISDN Modem. After setting everything up I can access the internet through the ISDN modem on both machines and the Windows XP machine can access resources on the Windows NT machine. However, attempts to access the Windows XP station from the Windows NT station result in the message “Logon Failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.” The user at the NT station has been set up as a local user on the XP station as a member of the administrators group. This is not a resource sharing problem, since the NT station does not get that far. The Logon failure message appear immediately when the NT user clicks on the XP machine in network places. I must be missing a setting somewhere — Can anyone help with this?
Thanks,
bill
