Logon name points to wrong profile

On WIndows XP I have a user name and password. All of a sudden, with the same user name is points to a completely new profile. For example, if my user name was

Winuser1 it is now
Winuser1.computername

All my files and programs are there, I just cant access them because it thinks I am this new user, however I have not created any other accounts and only have this one. Is there anyway that I can point the Username back to the correct profile?
