logon problem on windows network

login problem in windows 2003 network

it will take 10 to 20 mins to boot the system in the network..." applying the local sttings"
sometimes it will work fine ...but most of the time we are facing this problem..

and we have windows2003 domain and winxp and win2000 workstations.

DNS/DCs/Global Catalog/sysvol/netlogon

long logon times usually are associated with clients not being able to find a DC in which to authenticate with.

So DNS is used to resolve queries e.g. find DCs, the Global Catalog role on a DC is required for users to log in. The sysvol and netlogon shard folders must be accessible to clients to log in.
