I want to work at onsite for long duration around 2-3 years , for developer onsite period is maximum 6 months to 1 year

I want to know which role/position I should target so that I can work for long period at onsite

IT Contracts

by Lisa_TEK In reply to Long term onsite in Busin ...

It's hard to say because most customers structure IT contracts for around six months, but with the expectation that if a consultant does well, the contract will get extended. The typical project time is 18-24 months, and we have a lot of contractors who have been working for the same client for over two years, particularly on Business Objects and Tableau projects. Both skills are more in demand than Qlikview. My advice is take a six-month position if that's what's offered, and do a great job with it -- you'll have a pretty good chance of staying two years. If you're working with a larger recruiting agency, they can usually find your next position very quickly if you perform well in your first assignment.
