Free and good value

You will be lucky to find a decent Antivirus that will do what you want. Avast only pops up when you need to update to a newer version or to let you know that it has been updated. I scan and check for updates at least weekly with both Spybot and MalwareBytes.

I have been using Avast which is free for home use on my five networked Systems for months now without any problems, no impact on performance either. You only have to register it and then re-register again annually. Set it and forget it.

This is when I switched over.

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and do a regular scan and keep it updated.

<a href="" target="_blank"><u>Malwarebytes</u></a>

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform Quick Scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy and install it and Update it and run it.
