Looking for advice on what certifications to take next

By TechMitch ·
I'm having a hard time deciding on what Certifications to earn while I'm waiting for a job with this economic downturn. I have a bachelor's degree in IT Technology and Security. After recently passing the A+ exam I started studying for the Network+ with a self help book, and just looking at the objectives looks like it will be to easy so I'm beginning to wonder if its even worth my time having. I was considering jumping to the Security+ or Server+, but can't decide. I could see the logic in taking a microsoft cert like a desktop support, but after looking at how microsoft has used a shotgun approach to copying Comptia's jobrole based exams and failing miserably if its worth the time taking 4-5 tests just for one cert that expires when the technology changes. I'd like to focus on networking and security, but with the job market like it is I want whatever I can get that will help obtain a job faster. Any advice?
