I have a graduate degree in CSE from reputed US university and I work as a senior IT consultant specializing in J2EE, web services, and BEA products. I am looking for decent consulting firm that will be willing to file for H1b transfer, pays well, and has direct clients. The problem I see is that many big consulting firms like Tek Systems, Modis, etc. will not file H1b directly but will hire internationals by subcontracting with other small consulting firms. These small consulting firms really eat into consultants paycheck and do nothing else. Right now, I am stuck with such a contract with 2 consulting firms eating into my paycheck and I am effectively getting only 40% of what my client pays. In my next contract, I want to eliminate this extra layer of consulting agency and looking forward to work directly with firms that are capable of finding direct contract opportunities. I look forward to your recommendations.
