Looking for Internet database with fax capabilities

By mvitek ·
We are a construction company that has offices in Chattanooga, Boston and Dallas. We are looking for an Excel database format that can be utilized by all offices for maintaining a nation wide database with the following criteria:

1. Able to have master list by trade (i.e. earthwork, concrete, etc.) and pull from database to create separate jobs for each project.

2. Notification to subcontractors by fax and/or Email for upcoming projects being able to attach a Word document.

3. Database to be accessible by multiple users (approx. 60) with administration rights to control modification of database.

Thank you.

could it be done in Access?

by JimHM In reply to Looking for Internet data ...

Would it be better and simpler to do it in Access - which is a database environment.

Information can be translated from Access to Excel for reporting or from Excel to Access for storage.

I am sure it can be coded - but as for an existing application - I don't think there is one out there. Maybe someone in Techrepublic will offer to build one for $$$ ... good luck.

Try Primavera

I have consulted for a few contractors in the past and Primavera seems to be a standard.

There is an inexpensive app called Unimessage Pro (by Wordcraft Pty Ltd) that allows you to perform a mail merge and automate faxing (you could use an MS Acess DB for your data).
