I am looking for a software program that I can put on a laptop, and use for networking purposes. Basically I would like to use the laptop, like a netping or fluke device. I would need the software to show me Speed/Duplex, Vlan, switch name, port #, cable lenght, if the line is good or broken. I know that there are some expensive software out there, but didn’t know if there was any cheap reliable software or even freeware. All advice appreciated.
