Looking for Secure Delete Freeware

By Rosstamon ·
I have several personal files on my work laptop. O/S is XP Home Edition. I'll be leaving my company soon. I need to permanently delete some files before I turn it in. Anyone have any ideas. Would like some recommendations on Freeware. Otherwise will take suggestions on a retail product. I'm looking for a Freeware file shredder. I know how to delete files and empty a recycle bin.

Disk Secure Erase Freeware

Download hdderase.exe from http://cmrr.ucsd.edu/hughes and use the built-in ATA secure erase command to sanitize a disk drive at the highest NIST 800-88 level, twice as fast as external block overwrite utilities.

secure delete

heyy...deleting files permanently or deleting them from recycle bin doesnt delete the data permanently....only reference is deleted..so you require some application that can do it for you....yeah u can try file shredder...and can also give a try to Advanced system optimizer.... it also has a tool secure delete through which u can delete all your sensitive data permanently and no tool can ever recover your deleted files and folders!Be cautious as nothing can be recovered once deleted.u will find its free version on this link....
