Looking for TR article on shutdown key.

By bosston ·
I had a Techrepublic article that I lost which allowed me to turn on a registry setting to create a log file when shutting down and the only way to shut down was to type a response why you were shutting down and then you could click the OK button because the button was grayed preventing you from shutting down.

If you say the shutdown button was greyed out try goiing to the run command and typing in gpedit.msc

Now under User configuration > Administrative templates > Start Menu and Task bar -- look in the right hand pane for:

Disable and remove the shutdown command and reset this value.
