Loosing connection

By wendy1294 ·
Every day at 4:30 pm the same users get an error stating can not connect to the sql servers? Even though they were able to connect all day before 4 0pm. We have 500 users and only 5 every day lose connection while doing Access applications. we upgrade sql os from windows nt to windows 2000. Majority of users a using windows nt platform on the desktop.

Loosing connection

Are these users pugged into the same hub/switch?

And now, a story: I new a site that every night at a specific time, a couple of servers and a piece of network gear went down. It stayed down for 1/2 an hour. Of course when they came back up it was blue screens and Scandisk and general chaos until the servers could be restarted by a person. To make a long story short, it turns out the cleaners were coming in, at the same time every night. Needing a place to plug in their cleaning equipment, they unplugged a power bar from the wall. Faithfully when they were done, they'd plug it back in and leave.

Are users authenticating in Novell (it has time restrictions that can be tuned to half hour increments....NT only tunes to an hour, not sure about 2K).

Just a wild guess.......

Check time restrictions on both the NT logon and the SQL server.
