The school district where I work uses a web interface to connect to an AS400 system to store all school records. The system is located at the Intermediate Untit about 30 miles away. At least twice a day as the secretaries are entering data into the system they lose connection to the system and the data they were entering. We use another ISP provider for our internet and do not use the Intermediate Unit. Could the problem be that since we have to go through several routers (hops), because of timeout issues, is the reason we are losing our connection. When we lose the connection, we still have access the Internet. When we call the intermediate unit, they report that we are still connected and have to ask them to disconnect us so that we can sign on again. I am thinking about switching our ISP to The Intermediate Unit in hopes that this may reslove the problem. What do you think? What do you think is causing the problem? Should I switch the ISP provider?
