A situation I’ve never seen before- a user’s workstation will intermittently lose the ability to open files on our Windows 2000 file server. If you open My Computer, the network drives appear normal (no red x’s indicating a failed connection) but if you click on the drive icon, nothing happens- the PC freezes. Same results if trying to access resoures through network neighborhood. This is an intermittent problem, and usually only appears after the PC has been on for at least 30 min. Happens regardless of the location of the PC, or the user logging in. Have so far tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Client for MS Networks, and have also tried a new NIC card. Any ideas as to what might be causing this would be greatly appreciated!
