I currently own an EMachines T4510. Recently, the power supply burned up. After replacing it, the computer would not stay on. A friend came and just held F2 on start up, which enabled the computer to function normally.
Or so I thought.
After this, I found out that my sound card will not work. I actually cannot find card as being installed on my computer even though it is one that it is integrated into the motherboard. When I try to open the Windows Volume Control, I get the error message “There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Add Hardware.” I check in the BIOS and it says that the sound card is on.
Also, my USB ports do not work. When I plug things into them my computer jams up and I have to restart. I am assuming that there are some settings that that need to be reset/set to the new power supply.
Can anyone provide some insight into this problem?
