I recently replaced a Cisco 340 bridge with a Cisco 350 bridge because it appeared to be faulting in that it was continuously resetting itself every 3-4 minutes. The other side of the bridge showed uptime as 830+ days. I have been able to continuously ping both sides without dropping any packets however the Cisco software gives me continuous warning messages that the “authentication with the parent has been lost”. The older 340 is the parent and the 350 is the child. No WEP is running. The bridge appears to reestablish itself allowing several minutes of connectivity between the two buildings but then is lost due to this problem. I’ve trimmed tree branches between the buildings and have eliminated the coax cable leading to the antenna on the 350. UPS power appears to be functional on both sides. Help!
