Lost BIOS, loads of problems….

by aelara . Updated 21 years ago

I stupidly offered to upgrade a friends packard bell imedia 3050 form her current OS to Win XP Pro. I decided to re-format the hard drive also. To cut a long story short, I think I managed to delete the partition on which the BIOS was stored. So first question- how do I rectify that? Secondly, I did manage to install the OS but have encountered a few problems- no sound for starters, the modem is being seen as a DSL modem when it is a dialup modem, hence no way of getting online and finally in device manager these four problems are displayed with their yellow exclamation mark: multimedia audio controller, PCI modem, USB controller and video contoller VGA compatable.
Are all these problems associated with the missing BIOS??? Help…..
