LOST BIOS PASSWORD FOR MY LAPTOP :(

I have lost the Bios Password for my IBM ThinkPad Laptop. But I had another way of logging in to the Laptop using fingerprint. My question is, Is it possible to change the Bios password or if I wipe out the machine (Laptop) and Reinstall it a fresh, Would that clear the Bios Password? or Is there a way to reset the password when am logged in?
