Lost CD ROM on my PC

I installed windows 2003 server on the machine and noticed that I lost my Cd Rom. (Win Server 2003 was installed using Cd Rom)
It is not even showing in the Device Manager and neither in Disk management console.
There is no external drive attached with the PC, Only thing I attached externally with my PC is USB flash drive.
Can someone please advise me what could be the reason.
