Lost data

by kelvin.nichol . Updated 23 years, 5 months ago

I have Windows XP & I just put a drive from another computer into the machine. Now begins the problem I did a system restore during which the following message came up “change made to drives G: F: after this point cannot be reversed because the drive was either excluded from system restore monitoring or was turned off or removed” Thinking that System restore was just going to change the order of the drives I continued. After reboot the drive did not appear in windows. Worse than that even fdisksaid there were no partitions on it & even if I try to put partition on it when I reboot still the same “no partition” I even tried disconnecting all other drives and installing windows XP on the drive but it says there is no room left on drive. Norton Disk Doctor said that it contained a non DOS partion.
Is there any way of restoring the fat 32 to that drive and rescueing the data that was on that drive originally?
