Lost Emails

by kipper_1 . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

Hello,

We have not received emails on 2 occasions in the past month.

The main recipient within our company does not receive the email but the individuals within the company who are cc’d into the email receive it. The email is being sent into our company from outside the company and on both occasions the domains from which the emails have been sent have been different. The main recipient on both occasions have also been different.

We use an external spam filtering service whereby all mail passes through their servers for filtering. Using this service I can view all emails that have passed through their system by searching by sender or recipient. The lost emails have not passed through this system for the user who has not received the email?

An example of one of the missing emails is below. Domains and users modified for confidentiality:

From: USER@se.abc.com [mailto:USER@se.abc.com]
Sent: 04 October 2007 14:38
To: USER1@ourdomain.com – NOT RECEIVED, NOT PASSED THROUGH SPAM SYSTEM
Cc: USER2; USER3 on ourdomain.com; USER2@se.abc.com; – BOTH OUR USERS RECEIVED

The mail header is below from the email received by USER2@OURDOMAIN.COM
