I recently took over the responsibility of an office that has a HP Color Jet 5 printer. When I first visited the office, I noticed that the CLJ 5 was shared through a computer and was not utilizing the Jetdirect Card that was installed. My first question was, Why is this printer shared and not connected to the network? I set the printer up to run on DHCP and connected it to the network using the Jet Direct Card. When I attempted to connect to the printer via HP JetAdmin Utilities it asked me for a password. I asked the personnel in the office if they know what the password is, but all I got were blank stares. Now I know why the printer was shared and not networked.
Does anyone know how to reset the password on a HP Jetdirect Card? Thanks, Doug
