I have a Dell PIII, 500 MhZ, 128MB running NT 4.0 SP 5. I uninstalled Office 97. I installed Office 2000. Now on my desktop no correct icons show except for Microsoft icons. The rest are generic. If I look at properties it knows the correct icon butdoes not display it on the desktop. I also did a find on *.doc files. The correct files came up but they had Excel icons! What happened and how do I fix it?
