Lost Microsoft

by rtbiz93 . Updated 21 years, 5 months ago

Comments: Dear Sirs,
Several weeks ago my computer crashed, I beleieve as a result of a nasty virus. (I am a nurse–when people crash and have symptoms I know how to treat them!!!!) Anyway the computer—a Compaq w/AMD—crashed. (It did this about 1 yr ago, I then took it to our local comp. shop. They had to order the recovery disks and restore disk from the company and reinstall everything. At that time, out microsoft works which was on it at purchase came back just fine.) Well, this time when the thing CODED–crashed– I called the shop and since I am a litttle comp savy—they told me to turn it off, reboot and put the disks in as it asked. I did. Everything came back just fine with exception of Microsoft works. I have windows XP home edition and it is there. But the microsoft works is GONE. When I called Compaq, they wanted to charge me both of my legs to talk to me, cause the thing is no longer under warranty. I Called microsoft and they said since it was on the computer wh!
en I got it they couldn’t/wouldn’t help me.
Now, with Bill Gates being one of the richest dudes on the planet and me one of the ones trying just to support a family, I am pretty determined not to buy another works—I need office and cause that is $250.00.
Anyway, I apologize for the rambling. I am still kinda ticked off. Do you have any suggestions. Yes, I have downloaded Open Office. But I am so familiar with the other that I could do things with my eyes glued shut. My hubbie, who is disabled cause of cogential back problem, has just started an online thing with SFI and I am helping. I even designed and put up a web site—lol~!!!!
If you have any answers or suggestions, I would appreciate it.
Thank you for listening.
With Thanks and Prayers,
Tina Neal
