Lost Outlook Mail & Desktop Icons

User was prompted by windows XP to remove desktop icons that were not being used through the desktop cleanup wizard. For some reason, once this was run it not only removed the desktop icons but compressed his outlook mail to .pst file. He then triedto perform a system restore back to two days previous. Once this was done the compressed .pst file was gone and the desktop icons were gone. Can someone shed some light or is he sol. Thankyou
