lost passwords

i have recently taken over the running of a small network running windows 98se,using one of them as a print server,now on all machines except the print derver it is now asking for a password to use the printer,none of the admin passwords i have work,and knowbody seems to know anything about it,located the password list libary but am unable to open the .dll file
what can i do apart from wiping everthing an starting again from the ground up and being screamed at cause everythings off or spendingany money which there is none 🙁
