Lost pst file

While copying my pst file, (1.6gb), to a back up folder, I noticed it was copying slower than usual. I cancelled the copy. From that point, I couldn’t find the pst file anywhere. I’ve done complete searches including looking for any file of similar size in Windows and DOS. (I’m running XP)

I’ve never seen anything like this and nothing is making logical sense. The file just seemed to dissapear.

Any ideas?
