Lost Save Password? Behavior — Recover?

On my Win2K Pro workstation, I never get the “Do you want to save this password?” Dialog, and of course auto-correct never fills in passwords for me etc. when browsing (IE 6.x). I’ve tried all the “clear saved forms, clear saved passwords etc.” stuff recommended by the Help system, but the thing refuses to learn new (annoyance) passwords. RegEdit WHAT to turn it back on?
