Lost Windows ME Product Key

I need to reinstall MY OWN windows ME and have lost my product key. I went into REGEDIT and retrieved my product key but it didn’t work. I ONLY have 1 copy of ME upgrade bought and paid for. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I get my product key??
