By subhani ·
Guys !!!

Those who are using Lotus notes ,I want to know on how you are taking your backups .My Mail files as well as databases now exceed 50 GB and I don't know how to take my backup .Before I used to copy the files on an external hard drive but at this stage ,copying the files take too much time .
Any ideas .

Norton ghost

by brian In reply to Lotus Domino Backup

Try using Norton Ghost 14. You can set it up to do automatic backups to your external hard drive at a specific time, or you can just create the backup when you are ready to leave for the day.....you make your initial backup which will take a while, but then it will go through on subsequent backups and just recreate the files that have changed to a new restore point. you can recover the files at a later date by using the software. For further information you can go to: http://www.symantec.com/norton/ghost

Thanks but here is another query

by subhani In reply to Norton ghost

Thanks . I am familiar with Norton ghost but never tried it . One question ,do I need to shut down the Lotus domino server Or it can be kept online during the backup Process . I am saying this as I have noticed that if server is kept running than backup Or any similar process slows down the machine as well as takes more time .Have you tried any other Options in the past such as veritas or arcsight .
