Lotus Notes Archive

Am using lotus notes 5.06a and have a Archive of 980+ mb, but when i go to my workspace and tried to open my archive, it performed a consitency check and it failed, since then i could not open up my archive.
Is there a way to work around this problem?
i have tried to repair the database using the repair tools of the client ,by going to command prompt and repair, yet still encountered the same error…saying that the database is corrupted or something
Is there a way out of this problem?
