Lotus Notes Connection Problems on Mac

    Locked

    by ampl ·

I have a single Mac user in a network consisting of Microsoft 95/98/NT/2K and Linux systems… he needs to access Lotus Notes, but for whatever reason, his system is not translating the “familiar name” to the IP address. Lotus Notes won’t allow me to enter the IP address directly.

He is running a dual G4 450Mhz, OS 9.x… his network itself is working (verified with IE5 to our intranet webserver).

Does anyone know how to configure the host table, or at least know what format the hostfile should be when you import into the TCP/IP control panel?

Have you tried to create a connection document in the users personal address book. Basically create a document of type ‘Local Area Network’ set the servers domino name and then in the advanced section you can set the IP address.

      Hope this works.
