Lotus Smart Suite

By hydveda ·
Hello,
I had lotus Smart Suite installed on my win2000 pro, I backed up the .APR files but unfortunately i didnt backup the .mdf files and now i have formatted the harddrive which contained Lotus Smart Suite and i am desperate to recover the .mdf files. If i try to open the .arp extension files then it says the it cannot find the backend database and do i want to associate a new one.
That database is very important for me, can anyone please tell me how does one recover the .dbf files from a formatted harddrive?? Or is it possible to recover the database in any way??
I did try using the datarecovery tool, Ontrack Easy Recovery, but it couldnt recover the file.

PLease help.

Regards.

If you have not written anything on the drive yet, try this software:
http://www.disk-utility.com/unformat-hard-disk-software.html
There are others to choose from in the net

www.ontrack.com has been the industry standard for years, but they aren't cheap. You can also send them your disk.

Are you saying you formatted the drive and then reloaded the operating system? If so, you are probably wasting your time trying to get the files, but there are some programs that might find them if they haven't been overwritten yet. How big is the drive? How full before formatting and how full is it now?

If you formatted the drive and it is a second drive on the system and you have not written anything back on, then there is a very good chance you can get the files back. There are many utilities on the Net for this scenario.

Report back which scenario you fall in.
