I couldn’t find this discussed previously, although I am sure it has been. With the cost of computers continueing to go down and manufactures stupidfing there hardware and software. I fequentily get responses from customers who tell me that they could go get a new computer for what is cost them to maintain or fix their exsiting one. In cases, when the a hardware failure cost more to repair than a new machine, I agree with them. However, I think that there is a huge component to supporting and maintaining computers and networks beyond the hardware cost. Althought, I do not have a good “elevator” response to those you think that there computer is like a blender that can easily be replaced at the nearest mega store. So two question:
1. Do you think that low cost computers has decrease the number of call you get?
2. What is your best 60 second (elevator) response to those who make that comment?
