Just asking: how old is your latest backup? How much would you lose if you restore that?

Your situation is, well to put it bluntly, bad. Like between a rock and a hard place bad. You can hope that the Lynx ransomware did not delete or encrypt your “shadow system volumes”, or saved system restore points. However, from my reading about this particular malware, those items are targetted as well as your data files. You can try to restore from last good restore point, worth a shot anyhow. Other than that, your only option is to use some sort of bootable malware removal tool to boot from and attempt repair. NOTE: Disable ALL INTERNET ACCESS as well as other external drives and devices prior to attempting to boot with removal tool. Use another clean PC to find one. Some may work, as in MalwareBytes,
but others may not be effective. Going to have to do some research.

Most new computer users don’t have a server. They just have a laptop (or a desktop if they prefer) with Windows and that’s it.
Who are “we” and what is “this field”?

      Hi
If you’ve been impacted by the Lynx ransomware and are searching for a decryptor, please be cautious. Currently, there may not be a publicly available decryptor for Lynx, as it depends on encryption specifics and vulnerabilities. Ensure you report the incident to cybersecurity authorities, back up any unaffected data, and avoid paying the ransom. For recovery, consult with a cybersecurity expert or use reliable ransomware recovery services to explore safe decryption or data recovery options.
